Meet Umutcan, our Turkish competitor!
Participating for the first time in the Just Dance World Cups is our new champion, Umutcan – also known in the dancing world as “Technoth”. At sixteen years old, he may be one of our youngest champions, but Umutcan is not afraid for the finals in Paris, claiming that a “crowded environment doesn't make me scared. On the contrary, it makes me excited and encourages me.” This positivity is also reflected in his unique style of dancing that makes him feel like his true self: “It's like a go into a dream state and I feel really free.”
It is not the first time he’s tried to qualify for the World Cups. “I gave it a shot last year […] I was not as good as now.” He improved after intensive training: “I trained at least three hours every day. I really trained very hard!” It is safe to say that he truly earned his spot in the finals.
Just Dance is the game that helped him to discover his passion for dancing. He still plays as much by himself as with friends. He confesses to us that Just Dance has had an important role in his friendships: “I socialize with my friends through Just Dance. My relationships with friends are much stronger now.”
His favourite song to dance to is: “Hey Mama! Hey Mama! Hey Mama! Absolutely Hey Mama! Because when I play this song, I feel more excited and free. It makes me very happy.” His excitement must be contagious, since his friends and family support him wholeheartedly and wish him all the best.
